How to read it
- 0 to 24 — Extreme fear: the market is scared and selling.
- 25 to 44 — Fear.
- 45 to 55 — Neutral.
- 56 to 75 — Greed.
- 76 to 100 — Extreme greed: euphoria; it often coincides with strong rallies.
The index is calculated by alternative.me by combining volatility, volume, social media activity, Bitcoin dominance and search trends. It is a snapshot of overall mood, not a buy or sell signal: the market can stay fearful or greedy for weeks.
